A supremely gifted drummer and an exceptional musician and composer, Brian first started turning heads with Jazz Saxophone superstar Joshua Redman. Brian's deeply sensitive accompaniment and fiery solo breaks with Redman would send audiences into rapturous applause. With credits including Pat Metheny, Kenny Garrett, Daniel Lanois, Wayne Shorter and Joni Mitchell, Brian has been acknowledged amongst his peers as a significant new voice in Modern Jazz drumming. He released his first solo CD "Fellowship" on the Blue Note label to much critical acclaim. In 2000, Brian Blade and the Fellowship Band released their second Blue Note recording, "Perceptual." This was followed with their 2008 Verve debut recording, "Season of Changes." "Season of Changes" has been selected as a top 2008 jazz album of the year by many publications including Down Beat magazine. To say that Brian is in high demand both in the studio and on stage these days would be an understatement.
"The new K Constantinople cymbals have an incredible feel. They have such beautiful tones and textures, I get excited to play them."
