Hard-Hitting Australian drummer Jackie James Barnes has been described as a drummer of amazing feel and endurance, with a hungry appetite for music from all different corners of the globe that continues to add many different flavors to his playing.
Born into Australian music royalty as the son of legendary rock singer Jimmy Barnes, it seems Jackie was always destined to be a part of the music industry. He discovered drums from the time he could walk through watching Tony Brock play with his father, and grew up listening to a huge variety of musical styles ranging from Rock to World Music as well as many other genres.
Since 2003, Jackie has toured and recorded with Jimmy Barnes, and in 2010 he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music, Boston, Massachusetts.
In 2013, Jackie toured with renowned Australian group "The Ten Tenors", performing over 100 shows around the world.
Jackie has played on over 50 international releases including 3 DVDs and has worked with artists such as Cold Chisel, Keith Urban, Joe Bonamassa, Journey, Steve Morse, Bob Daisley, The Ten Tenors, Diesel, Andrew Roachford, Mahalia Barnes, EJ Barnes, Evil J + Saint Cecilia, The Madden Brothers, Mica Paris, Glenn Hughes, Reece Mastin, Moussa Diakité and Steve Van Zandt.
He has featured in Australian Drummer magazine, has received a number of Platinum and Gold records, has been nominated for 8 ARIA Awards and as a performer and songwriter reached number 1 on the ARIA Charts. Throughout his career he has performed for audiences in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, USA, Canada and Asia.
