Playing drums and making good music is what Kevin Boutot is all about. At age 22, he has been playing drums for 18 years, since he was 4 years old. He started playing so early on because his father was a drummer. Kevin was bound and determined at such a young age to learn how to play and after his father showed him a couple things, he went on to teach himself the rest. At 8 years old, Kevin started playing along with his cassette player to mostly Rush, Iron Maiden, and other bands he heard of from his father. Neil Peart, Nikko McBrain, and his dad were his main influences as a kid. Kevin's first band was Among Shattered Dreams which was a local band from Naugatuck, CT. He moved onto A Thousand Falling Skies, another band from his town, signed to Stillborn Records. Now Kevin plays for The Acacia Strain. The band is based out of Chicopee, MA and is signed to Prosthetic Records. He has toured the U.S. for the past 4 years, and also Canada and Europe with The Acacia Strain. He plans to continue his career with The Acacia Strain and to further his life behind the drums with whatever gets thrown at him next.
