Brooklyn native Charley Drayton is the consummate musician. Aside from his incomparable drumming talents, he brings to the table his skills a guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, vocalist and producer. Charley's professional music career began at the tender age of 13 and within the next couple of years; he was playing with music industry elite such as Bernard Wright, David Sanborn & Chaka Khan. Charley's lengthy list of playing credits includes work with The Divinyls, Fiona Apple, The Wreckers, Michelle Branch, David Letterman Show (NBC), Keith Richards and the Expensive Winos, Hiram Bullock, Bernie Worrell, The B 52's, Herbie Hancock's Headhunters, Mariah Carey, Shelby Lynne, Cracker, Jeffery Gaines, Doyle Bramhall Jr., Jayhawks. He continues to perform, record and produce for a variety of international artists.
Although Charley's main love is playing the drums, he spends much of his time producing and arranging tunes for other artists. His personal playing style and approach to songwriting make him a most sought after musician. Charley's choice of cymbals has always been Zildjian and he has been an official endorser since 1982. His current cymbal set-up reflects his eclectic and ever- tasteful, unique style.
