Kevin joined The Royal Ballet Sinfonia in 1990 aged twenty-one, and was appointed to his current position as Principal Percussionist two years later. Working regularly with The Royal Ballet and Birmingham Royal Ballet companies, he has performed in theatres throughout the UK and abroad, and has featured on numerous CD and TV recordings. He has also worked with many of the worlds other leading ballet companies, including The Kirov, The Bolshoi, Paris Opera-Ballet, Australian Ballet and New York City Ballet.
Kevin features regularly with other major London orchestras, most notably The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, with whom he has recorded and toured extensively, often as guest Principal Percussionist. He is currently the associate percussionist on the London production of Mary Poppins, and has performed in many other West End musicals, including My Fair Lady, West Side Story, Fosse and City of Angels. He has also co-written incidental music for a number of theatrical productions, including the UK national tour of Tom Jones.
Away from the orchestral scene Kevin is a busy Latin percussionist. An original member of the Latin-Jazz group Frevo, he is now a member of the Ross Mitchell Dance Bands, and has played for artists as varied as Heather Small, Boney M, Barry Manilow, Liza Minelli and the Colin Towns Orpheus Band.
