Stephan Emig, drummer & percussionist from Hannover, Germany and has been playing professionally since 1998.
He played concerts worldwide with Hamid Baroudi, triosence, ritmo del mundo, Christina Lux, Jimmy Dillon a.o. and is best known for his musical playing in different styles from jazz to latin, pop to rock music. He is working as a drummer as well as a percussionist and is also producing and programming at his own studio.
His concert credits include Montreal Jazzfestival, Winnipeg Folkfest, Montreal Nuit de Afrique, WOMADs in Singapore, Australia, Europe, UN against Racism South Africa, Anna Lind Stiftung - Alexandria, Egypt, lots of festivals and club gigs on every continent except South America!
He won the youth jazz combo competition in Hessen 1994 and 2000, German Rock-Pop-Award 2000, national youth jazz combo competition 2001, Jazzaward of the Westfahlenfestival, Support-and the Arts-Award of the government of Kassel 2001 and 2002. With Triosence he reached the finals of the international jazzcompetition of Hoeilaart, Belgium, 2005. The first two Triosence CDs were nominated for the "German Critics Award".
He is a touring clinician as solo-artist and also alongside Nene Vasquez as "ritmo del mundo", with whom he released the DVD "ritmo del mundo 1.0" in 2008.
