Real name, Aaron Fagan, began his music career at the tender age of 16, touring with a gospel choir and small music groups across London. Aaron finally got his big break at the age of 18, as a drummer for Fame Academy winner David Sneddon, leading him to work with some of the best names in the music industry from touring with UK Chart-topping hip-hop group N-Dubz, and the UK's biggest artists such as Tinchy Stryder and Chipmunk to John Legend, Raheem Devaugh and chart-topping UK artist Estelle.
Inspired by a variety of musicians from different genres throughout the ages, such as jazz group Yellowjackets, Anthony "Jaco" Pastorius, and Gerald Heyward, world renowned drummer to international stars, such as Chris Brown, Mary J Blige, Whitney Houston and more, Breakbeat's music can be defined as a combination of indie and electro-rock with an urban twist.
Having solely written and produced his entire debut album 'Definition of Me', Breakbeat is redefining cool. The compilation is an eclectic mix of strong rhythms, memorable hooks and melodies and lyrics inspired by his day-to-day life, from his point of view.
With his single, "Give The Drummer Sum", due for release in June 2010, the multi-tasking, entrepreneurial artist is already a cut above the rest, being one of the only UK artists to play the drums simultaneously whist rapping and singing, opening him up to a niche market and huge fan-base, including Award-winning Radio 1 DJ, Tim Westwood.
"My music and my album is hard to define...I make universal music, fusing indie, hip-hop and electro with addictive choruses. I think I'm doing something unique. I rap and play drums - that's pretty rare. Music is my life. I produce, I write and record. I want to do it all."
Breakbeat says, "I love music. I always have. It's something that I've always wanted to be involved in, so making this album was a dream come true for me. Working with greats such as John Legend, N-dubz and people like Chipmunk and Tinchy Stryder Ã? it's an amazing era of music to be involved in."
Having appearing on some of the biggest stages in the UK with some of the biggest stars in the world, Breakbeat is now concentrating on his debut album, 'Definition of Me' out next year, 2011.
Breakbeat has also launched his own clothing company #kissmybeats, which is a total hit with his fans and demographic.
