Anton began playing drums at the age of four. After years of drumming he studied at the prestigious New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, where he graduated with honors in 1975. In 1976, Anton moved to New York where he began to establish a career with his own band, "Spider," and as a freelance musician.
Some of the many recordings Anton has made include albums with Cyndi Lauper, Kiss, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Ace Frehley, Joan Armatrading, and Mick Jagger. He has also played live with such artists as the Thompson Twins and Live Aid, Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon and Chaka Kahn at Madison Square Garden.
Since 1986, Anton has been a member of "The CBS Orchestra" which performs nightly on "Late Night with David Letterman." During this period he has been fortunate to play with scores of great artists including Miles Davis, Steve Winwood, Phil Collins and Tony Bennett. Also, Anton was asked to play with the house band for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert during the introduction ceremonies.
Anton recently completed his first solo record entitled "Figments". Produced and co-written by Fig, the record represents three years of work and includes among others singers and musicians Richie Havens, Brian Wilson, Ivan Neville, Sebastian Bach, Ace Frehley, Al Kooper, Chris Spedding, Donald 'Duck' Dunn, Blondie Chaplin, Paul Shaffer, Chris Botti, Randy Brecker and Richard Bona.
Anton continues to record, produce and compose for numerous projects and play live with Booker T and the MG's as well as the Blues Brothers Band.
