Andy is without a doubt one of the most popular drummers in the UK.
His early credits include ‘Lisa Stansfield’, ‘Massive Attack’, ‘Duran Duran’, ‘Jeff Beck’, ‘Tonight with Jonathan Ross’ and ‘Spice Girls’. An interest in electronics led Andy to develop techniques allowing programmed sounds to be realised live through his kit.
The ‘Gangascope’, a gyroscopic drum frame of his own design complemented the futuristic look and feel of the music and is now synonymous with Andy’s presence on stage with acts like ‘Chase and Status’.
His own band ‘The Bays’ achieved a cult following with their improvised live performances, headlining festivals around the world without ever releasing a record. Instead, fans were introduced to the then revolutionary concept of free downloads of the gigs via the band’s own website.
In 2011 Andy established his own company 101 Artists to facilitate the increasing demand for his services as a Musical Director. With a special interest in breaking new electronic acts, his current roster includes ‘Rudimental,’ ‘Clean Bandit’, ‘Gorgon City’, ‘Rae Morris’ and ‘Years and Years’.
"Zildjian has always kept up with new changes in music, making it very easy for me to find the right high end frequencies required when creating 'the groove."
