Eric Kretz is the drummer for the Stone Temple Pilots, one of the most successful "Grunge Era" rock bands. STP has sold over 18 million records worldwide and has won numerous awards, including a Grammy. In addition to being a founding member and co-songwriter in STP, he also helped form and write songs for the band Talk Show. While in STP, Kretz contributed music to the band's hit "Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart." And along with lead singer Scott Weiland, Eric wrote the lyrics to the Grammy Award-winning hit "Plush". Currently, the band reunited after a 6 year hiatus and is on the road touring which will take them to the end of 2008. Then, STP plans to write and record a new record.
Eric also owns and operates Bomb Shelter Studios in Los Angeles. He has worked with several artists, particularly engineering and mixing songs by artists such as Thom Yorke, Damian Marley, Slayer, Jurassic 5, Death Cab for Cutie, and more. Kretz also works as Music Supervisor, Mixer and Engineer for live performances on the Henry Rollins Show.
