Glenn Kotche is the drummer in the critically acclaimed band Wilco. With Wilco, Kotche has recorded 2002's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and 2004's A Ghost Is Born, which debuted at number eight on the Billboard charts and earned the band a Grammy for best alternative album. He also collaborated with members of REM for the record Down With Wilco, and is a subject of the documentary film I'm Trying To Break Your Heart as well as the books Learning How To Die and Wilcobook.
Glenn holds a BM in music performance from the University of Kentucky where he studied under James B. Campbell and is also an alumnus of the Rosemont Cavalier's Drum and Bugle Corps snare line. Glenn has two solo percussion records out under his own name with the third due out in early 2006 on Nonesuch/Warners. He has also released three records with the duo On Fillmore, in which he plays vibraphone and is in the band Loose Fur with Jim O'Rourke and Jeff Tweedy. Kotche has written for television and film and has performed on over 70 recordings as well as all of the major late night talk shows in addition to the BBC, CNN and VH1. He has extensive international touring experience and currently resides with his wife Miiri in his hometown, Chicago.
