In addition to this, he holds a master degree in jazz from the Norwegian State Academy of Music.
He has played/plays with a wide variety of national and internationally acclaimed bands and artists in every genre such as: Shining, Elephant9, Maria Mena, Marit Larsen, Mathias Eick, Silje Nergaard, Eivind Aarseth, Jarle Bernhoft, D'sound, Noora Noor, The Norwegian Radio Orchestra, Kurt Nilsen (World Idol), Tv shows, Oslo gospel choir, Bertine Zetlitz, Jørn Øyen trio, Torun Eriksen, Alexander D With and Lene Marlin to name a few.
Torstein says: "I'm proud to be endorsed by the best cymbal company in the world. It's humbling to join the celebrity community of some of my favourite drummers in the Zildjian family of Artists. My Zildjian K Constantinople 22" thin low ride is the best cymbal I have ever played."
