Mick has been a devoted Zildjian endorser for over 17 years since his formative days as an established Independent in his native Adelaide (Australia).
After having spent 14 years being based in London, he has now once again returned to reside in Australia.
Currently playing with two of Australia’s most respected and well known Artists, singer Kate Ceberano and singer-songwriter John Schumann, Mick continues to be an in-demand Drummer with a wealth of experience.
He performed in an array of professional situations, up until moving to London in 1995, including television, sessions, theatre, gigs, concerts, and tours with popular artists in Australia; everything from Rock, Pop, Blues, R'n’B, and Jazz through to Theatre and Stage with such performers as Vince Jones, The Sharp, and many more, but Mick thought it was time to challenge himself further by moving to Europe.
After arriving in London 1995, Mick continued his success and tradition of versatility. His accomplishments continued in performing, touring, and recording with international performers such as American ‘Southern Rock’ supremo Dan Baird (Georgia Satellites), Nashville Country singer Heather Myles, Blues Legend ‘Joe Louis Walker,’ Pop songstress Jay Aston (Buck’s Fizz), Israel’s ‘Rock God’ Aviv Geffen, British Blue’s legend Dana Gillespie, London Ska/Reggae giants ‘Maroon Town’ and a host of others.
Mick has toured, recorded, and played in over 35 countries over the last 16 years, that statistic speaks for itself.
Academically, Mick has completed and attained two degrees from London Universities; a Bachelor of Music and a Masters in Music Performance, he subsequently taught extensively in London at Drum Tech from 2001-2008 and prior to that, he taught and was Head of Drums at the world famous Musicians Institute in London from 1998-2000, Mick is obviously a very experienced and prolific tutor as well as an in demand player.
Mick says, “I absolutely love my Zildjian Cymbals, they define me and they define my playing. I’ve always been able to find the sound I was looking for, no matter what gig or style I was playing. My 20” K Custom Dark Ride is my favourite cymbal ever, I can use it on any show, I love it!!!
As well as my K Dark Custom 20” Ride, I currently play 14” A Quick Beat Hi Hats, a 15” Custom Fast Crash, and a 17” Z Custom Medium Crash. But, luckily for me, I have more to choose from! All I can say is, thanks Zildjian!”
