The past 3 years have been a whirlwind for Gyroscope drummer Rob Nassif. After signing with Australian major label Festival Mushroom Records, Gyroscope took on a gigging schedule that could be described as endless. The hard work paid off with subsequent national tours with Blink 182, Thursday and The Living End to name a few. After a solid 18 months of touring and recording Gyroscope released there debut album Sound Shattering Sound which went straight into the Australian Top 40 Charts. Relentless touring in support of the release was then backed up by a flying visit to the U.S for a run of shows at the renowned South by South West Festival in Austin, Texas. Two months after returning home Gyroscope concluded writing material for their second album.
Upon the request of famed producer Mark Trombino (Jimmy Eat World, Rocket From The Crypt, Finch) Gyroscope relocated to Los Angeles to record their follow up album Are You Involved. Tracked over 3 months Gyroscope's latest body of work is a major progression for the band as well as Robs drumming. Set for release in September 2005 it looks like the world of Gyroscope drummer Rob Nassif is about to get a whole lot busier.
2006 saw extensive tours of The US, New Zealand and South Africa before work began on the follow up to Are You Involved? 2007 saw Gyroscope travel to Liverpool, England to record there 3rd LP Breed Obsession. Produced by Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers, Idlewild)
Breed Obsession was the result of 8 months writing and produced Gyroscope's most diverse work to date. Lead Single 'Snakeskin' gave Gyroscope its first top 30 single. The band then embarked on there first ever trip as part of Australia's Big Day Out Festival, playing to huge crowds on the eve of there new albums release.
Breed Obsession was released on March 8, 2008 debuting at Number #1 on The Australian charts. It was the bands first number #1 record and the first Australian number #1 in over 16 weeks. Since the release, Gyroscope's two subsequent tours have been completely sold out affairs. 3rd single 'Australia' has recieved extensive commercial radio play nationwide and the band is about to embark on its biggest tour yet, playing 38 Shows around the country.
