Pete Robertson, 27, is the drummer with London four-piece band The Vaccines. After television performances on Later with Jools Holland, Top of The Pops, The Late Show with David Letterman and The Jimmy Kimmel Show, as well as winning the prestigious “Best Newcomer” award at the 2012 NME Awards and receiving nominations for both an MTV Music Award for a Brit Award, The Vaccines quickly became recognised as one of the must-watch acts of the 2011/12 festival season, on the back of the band’s platinum-selling debut album What did you expect from the Vaccines?
The album reached number 4 in the UK album chart and has maintained its position in its upper tiers for more than 60 consecutive weeks. Prior to joining The Vaccines, Pete played live and studio sessions for a number of acts, including Gary Go, and I Blame Coco. Pete is recognized as one of the more versatile drummers in his genre, with his classical and jazz training complementing The Vaccines’ unique sound, the band being dubbed by the UK’s NME as “the saviours of British guitar music”.
In 2012, The Vaccines will play a wide range of shows internationally, including festival performances at Reading & Leeds, Radio 1's Hackney Weekender, Roskilde, T in the Park and Benicassim, and will support the Red Hot Chili Peppers on a stadium tour of Russia and eastern Europe this summer, before releasing their 2nd album, The Vaccines Come Of Age, scheduled for release on 3rd September
