A native of Chicago Illinois, Perry Wilson has spent the past twenty years performing and recording with such artists as Ken Chaney & Duke Payne, The O'Jays, Gerald Levert, Patrice Rushen, The Crusaders, Larry Graham, Stanley Clarke, The late Curtis Mayfield, The Impressions, Miki Howard, Little Steven Van Zandt, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Jerry Butler, and Cassandra Wilson to name a few. Four of the groups that Perry has toured extensively with have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame- The Impressions, The Temptations, The Four Tops and The O'Jays.
Perry currently performs with jazz legend Sonny Rollins. Perry has been quoted: "playing in Sonny's band is every dream realized. I'm convinced that few playing opportunities will ever parallel this experience." Perry is the rhythmic core of Sonny's band which includes Bob Cranshaw on bass and Stephen Scott on Piano.
Aside from his busy touring and recording schedule, Perry has been busy collaborating with fellow Chicago natives Babi Floyd, Marcus Persiani, Vashon Johnson,Verne A. Allison and Antwyn S.P. Chatman. Perry has been recording a CD with these artists soon to be released through P-Dub Studios.
Perry, a skilled graphic designer; also runs his own computer graphic design company known as P-Dub Graphics. He is currently involed in designing websites for various clients. October 2000 marked 17 years that Perry has been with Zildjian Company.
