Ben Zelico, at the tender age of fifteen years old, secured a recording deal with RCA Records along with his fellow teen bandmates, Garrett Zeile, Kevin Grimmett and Jake Munk. Together, they are JetStream, a teen rock band from Southern California. JetStream combines the experimental nature of bands such as Rush, Yes, and Led Zeppelin with a 21st century spin of angst, love and irony. After forming the band in 2007, JetStream went from playing local venues such as The Canyon Club, The Roxy, and The Key Club, to winning the US leg of the Global Battle of the Bands. It earned them a trip to Camden, England where they placed second pitted against thirty bands internationally.
As JetStream's sixteen year old show stopping drummer, Ben's style has been compared to the hard rocking talents of Neil Peart and Keith Moon. His major influences include Thomas Pridgen, Mike Portnoy and Dave Grohl. He is currently endorsed by DW Drums and has never considered playing any other cymbals aside from Zildjian. When he is not in band rehearsal, recording sessions, or performing at gigs, he is busy doing homework, playing hockey, and studying hard to get his driver's license.
