Spring, Texas (Summer 2009) Percussion education continues to thrive during the summer months due to the facilitation and presentation of over 20 High School Marching Percussion and Junior High/Middle School Total Percussion camps by N8RHYTHM, Lamar Burkhalter, Founder/Executive Director.
N8RHYTHM seems to be "recession proof" as the summer of 2009 has seen a record number of these camps presented. The N8RHYTHM staff has been traveling around Texas continuing to educate young percussionists in areas of marching percussion, keyboard, novelty, concert percussion, percussion ensemble and latin/african percussion.
In addition to these "for profit" activities, N8RHYTHM has also donated numerous hours to the Texas Children's Cancer Center, one of the largest children's cancer centers in the country, by providing drum circle activities for patients and siblings of patients as they work through very difficult times. These drum circles have been very well received and the participants got to escape some of their day to day challenges, through drumming and hand percussion activities.
Lamar Burkhalter, Percussion One and N8RHYTHM are generously supported by Zildjian Cymbals.
