On Friday October 9, Zildjian HQ in Norwell, MA was pleased to host a visit from Charles (Tom) Hunter and his wife Sarah, grand prize winner of the Vannucci Route 2 Zildjian sweepstakes. The Route 2 Zildjian sweepstakes celebrated the release of two new Zildjian Artist Series drumsticks, the Ronnie Vannucci and John Blackwell models. The grand prize winner of the Vannucci prize, Tom Hunter, received a trip to Zildjian Headquarters, a tour of the cymbal factory, a set of cymbals, and 24 pair of Ronnie Vannucci's sticks. Tom entered the sweepstakes contest at his local drum shop, Jungle Drums in South Charleston, WV, owned by John Speaks.
Tom had a very special day at Zildjian which included the opportunity to meet and "hang" with Zildjian CEO Craigie Zildjian and have lunch with many of Zildjian's key personnel including Brad Baker - VP and Chief Marketing Officer, John DeChristopher - VP of Artist Relations, Sarah Malaney - Manager of Artist Relations East Coast, and Ron Allman Manager of the Drumstick business. In addition, Tom and Sarah Hunter were treated to a private tour of the factory led by Paul Francis, Directory of R&D and Quality.
While in town, Tom and Sarah followed the Freedom Trail through Boston, visiting 16 authentic historic sites that played a significant part in the history of America's Revolution.
Tom had an experience that he will remember for a long time. "I can't express how much we enjoyed the visit with everyone at Zildjian" said Tom. "Sarah and I had a very memorable experience and we can't thank Craigie and all the Zildjian folks enough!"
