Dave DiCenso's new book, Universal Rhythms for Drumset, has just been released. He describes this publication as a workbook-style guide that shows how hundreds of variations/drumset ideas can be interpreted from five simple, foundational rhythms. He has laid the book out as forty-one lessons that all relate to each other.
Dave gives us an idea of what these lessons are comprised of: "Most of the exercises (interpretations) are mine, but most lessons are laced with 'offerings' from some of my favorite drummers too - to show you how they've interpreted the universal rhythms. The 5 rhythms are interpreted (written out with stickings) a combined total of 592 different ways, covering 28 styles of drumming - all recorded by yours truly on an mp3 cd that accompanies the book."
Universal Rhythms for Drumset is available now at your favorite online dealer.
