July 7th, 2010 marks Ringo Starr's 70th birthday and the pop music icon looks and sounds as great as ever.
On June 29th, 2010, Ringo and his All Star Band (including longtime Zildjian Artist Gregg Bissonette on drums), rolled into Boston's Bank of America Pavilion, and rocked the house. In addition to Gregg, the band included Edgar Winter, Gary Wright, Richard Page (Mr. Mister) Wally Palmar (The Romantics) and legendary guitarist, Rick Derringer.
John DeChristopher, Zildjian's Vice President, Artist Relations Worldwide and longtime friend of Ringo, was there to present Ringo with a birthday gift on behalf of the Zildjian Company - a pair of Tiffany silver cuff links. Commented John DeChristopher, "Ringo was in great spirits and genuinely appreciative of us acknowledging his milestone birthday. When he saw the Tiffany box he gave me a big smile, which was a huge relief! I mean - what do you give a Beatle for his birthday? One of the highlights of the day was being there for sound check and watching Ringo show Gregg the drum intro to "Come Together" and just standing next to the guy who is the reason I, and millions of others, became a drummer. Happy Birthday Ringo, with love and respect from all your friends at Zildjian."
