Congratulations to Viru Kaith and Indian metal pioneers, Demonic Resurrection, who have added another accolade to their already impressive list of achievements by recently winning the Global Metal award at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods 2010 in London, UK.
Metal Hammer is the one of the most prestigious heavy metal magazines in the world and the Golden Gods are their flagship awards for metal achievers across the world and are considered as one of the most important heavy metal awards.
Demonic Resurrection is the only band from India to ever have won a Golden God Award, made all the more significant by the fact that they beat bands from all over the world to claim it. 2010 has already been an eventful year for the band who have just completed a decade-long career in heavy metal. Earlier this year the band played the Inferno Festival in Norway, another first for an Indian band, and shortly after were signed to Candlelight Records, one of the five biggest record labels for extreme metal. The band will also play the Brutal Assault Festival in August in the Czech Republic, alongside some of the biggest names in metal. The band also made an appearance in filmmaker Sam Dunn's seminal documentary, Global Metal, as pioneers and forerunners of the Indian metal scene.
Congratulations also go out to all the Zildjian Artists who were Golden God Award winners 2010:
