Zildjian is delighted to officially welcome Pat Lundy from top UK Metal core band, Rise To Remain, to its Worldwide Family of Artists.
Rise to Remain have had a busy year, 2010 saw them play Download Festival and Sonisphere Festivals, tour support to Korn and As I Lay Dying and their own headline tour.
They were voted ‘Best New Band’ at the Metal Hammer ‘Golden God Awards’ and won the Kerrrang! Award for ‘Best British Newcomer.’
The band comprises of Austin Dickinson (the son of Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden) on lead vocals, Ben Tovey (the son of esteemed conductor/composer Bramwell Tovey) on lead guitar, Joe Copcutt on bass, Will Homer on rhythm guitar and Pat on drums.
Pat started playing drums at 9 years old, learning from some amazing drummers like Les Binks, ex-Judas Priest.
Pat says “I've learnt from some pretty amazing drummers over the years; Les Binks (ex Judas Priest ) showed me some fundamentals, from there I was able to take my playing to the next level and further my ability, applying new rudiments, and developing my own technique and style of drumming. I spend most of my time with my dudes, touring, practicing, recording and just hanging with instruments.
Music has enriched my life in a variety of ways, It keeps me entertained and gives me the motivation I need to get on with pretty much anything. I'm a lucky kid to be able to say, I have my dream job at the age of 19!
I've only ever played Zildjian, there’s a cymbal for every drummer, every style...For my style of playing, I can’t think of more responsive, or brighter sounding cymbals”
Pat’s cymbal set-up is left to right:
14" A Custom Projection Hats
18" A Custom Projection Crash
19" A Custom Projection Crash
21" Z Custom Mega Bell Ride
18" FX Oriental China Trash
Rise to Remains’ debut album, produced by Colin Richardson, is due out in early 2011. For more on Pat, visit his profile page.
