Zildjian is pleased to announce that Elliot Wallace was the winner of the 2011 Zildjian So Percussion Summer Institute Scholarship. A senior Percussion Performance major at the University of Akron, Elliot studies with Dr. Larry Snider.
Elliot has attended both the Berklee Summer Percussion Festival and the So Percussion Summer Institute. This was his second year to attend the So Percussion Summer Institute. Elliot is an accomplished musician on many fronts. He has a strong interest in new music, yet also performs in numerous groups ranging from the University of Akron Symphony Orchestra to a number of jazz and rock groups in the NE Ohio area. He performs regularly on the steel drums and drum set, is an orchestral percussionist, and has strong interests in world music.
