The Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School Percussion department sponsored it's fifth annual Day Of Percussion at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School in Scotch Plains, New Jersey on Saturday, February 12, 2011 from 9:00AM to 6:00PM. 450+ people were in attendance for that day which included performances from seven area percussion ensembles as well as four clinics that covered all areas in the world of percussion. The seven percussion ensembles that performed that day were Ridge High School, North Brunswick high school, Randolph Middle School, Randolph High School, Terrill Middle School from Scotch Plans, The Scotch PlainsFanwood High School Percussion Ensemble, and the Scotch Plains Fanwood High School RHYTHMSENSE Percussion Ensemble.
Zildjian Artist Tommy Igoe gave a very informative clinic on the importance of laying down a great groove on the drum kit, and Zildjian Artist Danny Seraphine (pictured above) had the entire audience rocking in their chairs while he played to various hits from his former rock group Chicago as well as his new group CTA.
