University of North Texas Percussion Coordinator Mark Ford was a guest performer and clinician for the Jerusalem Music Center in Jerusalem, Israel from May 13-19, 2011.
The event was hosted by Tomer Yariv (Percadu) and also featured guest clinician and world percussionist, Gilad Dobrecky. Mark presented clinics for percussion instructors and composers as well as conducted two masterclasses.
The festival concluded with a recital featuring Ford and Dobrecky. Mark's program was highlighted by his compositions including Kingdom Lore Fanfare, Stealing a Moment..., Wink (for alto-saxophone and marimba) as well as the Israeli premier of Stubernic. The recital finale was an improvisation with both Ford and Dobrecky.
Ford's appearance was sponsored by Dynasty, Innovative Percussion, Zildjian, Evans, and LP. While in Israel, Mark also presented a clinic for the Jerusalem Music Academy and host Percussion Professor Alon Bor.
