Zildjian is honoured in having a long standing relationship with what is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious Music Academy’s in the world, The Royal Academy of Music in London, UK.
It has been training musicians to the highest professional standards since its foundation in 1822. And the music world has benefited at all levels with Academy alumni including classical giants such as Sir Simon Rattle and Sir Harrison Birtwistle, to pop stars such as Sir Elton John and Annie Lennox.
Each year two top students in the percussion department are presented with the “Avedis Zildjian Percussion Award” - a prize award that is now in its 18th year. This year’s winners are: Elena Martinez Canto Martin and Tom Lee.
