This cymbal speaks quickly, then really gets out of the way. It has a great attack, but the super short decay makes it perfect for accentuating sudden stops in the music, or light accents during the groove. If you play heavier music like I do, I wouldn't recommend against this piece, but you might not want this to be your biggest crash. The 17" fits great with an 18" crash, or a crash/ride. Overall I highly recommend this cymbal to someone who wants a nice, quick accent for specific spots, not a workhorse crash. I gave it a 4.5 because I would've liked a slightly bigger bell, but that's not critical.
