This is a pretty decent ride for the price range. The bell is actually quite good, and it sounds surprisingly good when miked, but it's very clangy when crashed and it lacks the ping I was looking for. Still a great ride when you're getting started, though.
It's not a bad ride for beginning drummers. It does have some irritating overtones like most lower-end rides, but they all but disappeared when I played it while miked. It is my favorite ZBT cymbal, and it definitely did the job, but it lacks ping and it's not as crashable as I'd like it to be. However, I still would recommend it to drummers just starting out.
I only replaced my 20" ZBT ride after three years of playing. It's ping isn't the best, but it's still very articulate for the price, and it's bell really cuts through the mix! In my opinion, this cymbal is the best one from the ZBT series!
Its a great ride for the price, I like less wash and more bell, but it still fits the purpose.
The ZBT 20" Ride has an amazing Mid range tone that works in any musical environment. The Bell has a nice ping when played with minimal overtones.
