Drumming since the age of eleven, Sterling Campbell graduated from the High School of Music and Art in Manhattan.
During his early career, Sterling began playing at a wide variety of venues such as New York’s CBCG, The Ritz, and The Peppermint Lounge. It wasn’t until 1986 that Sterling began his professional career after playing for Cyndi Lauper during her True Colors tour. From there, Sterling went on to play for artists such as Duran Duran, the B-52’s, Soul Asylum, and Glam-Rock super star, David Bowie.
