The Avedis Zildjian Company is the world’s largest cymbal maker crafted by fifteen generations of artists and artisans since 1623. The name "Zildjian" means "son of cymbal maker” in Armenian which was given to Avedis I by the sultan of Turkey. Today, Zildjian continues to define the percussion industry through its dedication to helping drummers find their own, unique sound and by delivering the most diverse and highest quality range of cymbals, drumsticks and accessories.

MANUFACTURING

  • Rolling Mill Assistant
    We need an individual to fill a 2nd shift position. The hours are Tuesday through Friday - 10 hours (3PM -1AM). Perform Rolling Mill duties including loading castings, pick red-hot castings off of tray with short rake, separate and pass over to rolling mill."

    The ideal candidate will have:
    - High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience in an industrial, production manufacturing environment.
    - Must be a team player, good troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
    - Cross training capability and work in a fast paced environment.
    - Dependable and proven record of safety.
    - Able to handle a broad range of tasks.
    - Have a commitment to quality.

  • Maintenance Mechanic
    The Zildjian Company has been synonymous with setting the standard for the development and manufacture of high performance musical instruments since 1623. As the world’s leading maker of cymbals, drumsticks and percussion mallets, Zildjian products are sold across the globe, under the Zildjian, Vic Firth and Mike Balter brands, and are the standard to which all other cymbals, drumsticks and mallets are measured. From the beginner to the world’s greatest rock stars, jazz performers and concert percussionists, amateurs and pros alike chose Zildjian, Vic Firth and Balter products to allow them to experience and share the joy of music. Headquartered in Norwell, Massachusetts with offices in Los Angeles, CA and London, UK, Zildjian products are sold globally through distributors and via a network of dealers.     The position is based at the Zildjian factory headquarters in Norwell, MA:

    We need an individual to fill a third (3rd) shift position. The hours are Monday - Friday 8 hours (11 PM -7 AM). This position reports to the Plant Engineer and will handle all around maintenance and machinist functions, as well as perform fabrication of factory equipment parts. The ideal candidate will assist with installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing equipment within the factory as well as any maintenance of the building and grounds. Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience. High School Diploma required. Associates degree or training from Vocational school preferred. "

    The ideal candidate will have:
    • Troubleshoot programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
    • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
    • Diagnose and analyze difficult operating malfunctions and prioritize major, extensive or emergency repairs.
    • Use electrical test equipment as needed for repair and troubleshooting.
    • Assist in setting up predictive and preventative maintenance programs and perform timely equipment inspections to insure proper operation and safety compliance of manufacturing equipment.
    • Repair and rebuild electrical and mechanical components.
    • Participate in continuous improvement in safety, quality and housekeeping.
    • Communicate maintenance situations from one shift to another, including Plant Engineer.
    • Familiar with OSHA safety practices.
    • Organize and execute tasks regarding preventative maintenance items, changing filters, grinding rollers etc.
    • Installation, modification and fabrication of equipment and systems to meet production needs and schedules - motors, transformers, lights, generators, circuits, and basic components.
    • Executes and prioritizes work orders • Plant wide accountabilities for operational aspects including progress toward quality and production goals.
    • Facilities maintenance work including snow removal and other duties.
    • Ability to work individually on projects and collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Other duties as assigned by Plant Engineer - shop clean up, general maintenance, facilities support, production.

  • Sheet Metal Operator

    Position Description: Perform Sheet Metal duties including ability to perform Lathing and Edging of sheet metal cymbal line. We need an individual to fill a second (2nd) shift position. The hours are Tuesday-Friday 10 hours (3:00 PM -1:00 AM). One (1) to two (2) years’ experience working with metal or in a manufacturing environment. High School Diploma required. "

    The ideal candidate will:
    • Keep blanks organized and maintain storage area by size and material.
    • Reading and filling out spec charts.
    • Know how to lathe all product-use of lathe cutting tool.
    • Proper set-up and adjustments for machine set-ups.
    • Utilize proper backers for each SKU.
    • Know and perform the proper care of chisel.
    • Utilize proper size die for operation.
    • Make set-up adjustments using miscellaneous tools.
    • Know and perform the proper care of chisel.
    • Know machine set-up procedures.
    • Able to put program in computer/change programs.
    • Make necessary adjustments on pressure.
    • Make tool changes using horst.
    • Utilize shape checkers for visual inspection.
    • Keep tools/mandrols clean and organized.
    • Maintain established quality and quantity standards. Follow prescribed safety precautions, established company and department policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
    • Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and questionable conditions to proper supervision.
    • Maintain work area(s) and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
    • Maintain daily production and other records as required.
    • Provide assistance to other team members as requested by team leader.
    • Perform other related duties as required or directed.
