HUMAN RESOURCES

  • Human Resources Manager, Newport, ME
    (Reporting to the VP of Human Resources/Owner of Zildjian)

    The HR Manager will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of HR programs, policies, and procedures. With a strong emphasis on compliance, talent management, compensation, benefits, employee relations, employee engagement, training and development, and retention, the HR Manager acts as the central strategic resource to advise and assist management and staff to fulfill all HR programs, policies, and procedures.

    The ideal candidate will be an individual who believes in and demonstrates business practices that align with our company values. Must be a visible proactive advocate and agent of change, to foster and promote a continuing culture of excellence that utilizes industry best practices.

      • Competence to build and manage interpersonal relationships/trust at all levels. • Detail-orientated, with demonstrated extensive problem solving and critical thinking skills • Experience with HR Technology platforms preferred. • Responsible for leading and/or participating in project management and process improvement initiatives to create, revise or improve policies, procedures and HR practices to facilitate greater effectiveness, efficiency • Provide relevant data and recommendations to guide decision-making process. • Provide proactive performance management guidance and support to managers with employee coaching, counseling, career development, recognition, and disciplinary/performance improvement plans and actions. • Manage and resolve employee relations issues in a timely and responsive manner, and escalate issues when appropriate. • Manage recruitment efforts to ensure effective sourcing, screening, selection, hiring, and retention of high quality talent, including periodic review of local compensation equity. • Identify, develop, and execute targeted training and development for employee groups. • Manage the security of sensitive information, maintaining discretion and confidentiality always. • Support and/or lead other projects, programs, or duties as required Education and Experience • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of work experience in a HR generalist capacity and/or equivalent combination of education or experience. Previous experience supporting manufacturing/operations environment strongly preferred. • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including recruitment, organizational effectiveness, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compensation, and respective federal and state employment laws.
    Skills/Competencies:
      • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written). • Demonstrated experience developing consultative partnerships. • Results-oriented, resourceful self-starter with demonstrated time management and execution skills. • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail, systems and processes. • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask in a dynamic, steady-paced environment. • Strong conflict management, interpersonal, and negotiation skills • Embraces challenges and change; flexible, adaptable and reliable • Highly customer service focused and team-oriented. • Able to work independently, with minimal direction/supervision.

MANUFACTURING

  • Rolling Mill Assistant
    We need an individual to fill a 2nd shift position. The hours are Tuesday through Friday - 10 hours (3PM -1AM). Perform Rolling Mill duties including loading castings, pick red-hot castings off of tray with short rake, separate and pass over to rolling mill."

    The ideal candidate will have:
    - High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience in an industrial, production manufacturing environment.
    - Must be a team player, good troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
    - Cross training capability and work in a fast paced environment.
    - Dependable and proven record of safety.
    - Able to handle a broad range of tasks.
    - Have a commitment to quality.
  • Production Printer
    We need an individual to fill a 2nd shift position. The hours are Tuesday through Friday - 10 hours (3PM -1AM). Perform printing duties including the set-up of the Imtran Pad printing machine and the set up and operation of the robot in the printing cell, cleaning and taping of printing plates and maintaining the organization of plate storage. Basic maintenance is required including changing blades. Follow set priority schedule to ensure proper flow/or fulfill customer requirements. Printer also communicates with other departments such as scheduling and quality."

    The ideal candidate will have:
    - High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience in an industrial, production manufacturing environment.
    - 1 year experience in an industrial, production manufacturing environment.
    - Responsible for following established procedures.
    - Must be a team player, good troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.
    - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    - Cross training capability and work in a fast paced environment.
    - Dependable and exceptional attendance record.
    - Able to handle a broad range of tasks.
    - Ability to use time tracking and manufacturing computer systems.
    - Have a commitment to quality and proven record of safety.
