MANUFACTURING

  • Rolling Mill Assistant
    We need an individual to fill a 2nd shift position. The hours are Tuesday through Friday - 10 hours (3PM -1AM). Perform Rolling Mill duties including loading castings, pick red-hot castings off of tray with short rake, separate and pass over to rolling mill."

    The ideal candidate will have:
    - High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience in an industrial, production manufacturing environment.
    - Must be a team player, good troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

  • Quality Engineer
    The Zildjian Company has been synonymous with setting the standard for the development and manufacture of high performance musical instruments since 1623. As the world’s leading maker of cymbals, drum sticks and percussion mallets, Zildjian products are sold across the globe, under the Zildjian and Vic Firth brands, and are the standard to which all other cymbals, drumsticks and mallets are measured. From the beginner to the world’s greatest rock stars, jazz performers and concert percussionists, amateurs and pros alike chose Zildjian and Vic Firth products to allow them to experience and share the joy of music. Headquartered in Norwell, Massachusetts with offices in Los Angeles, CA and London, UK, Zildjian products are sold globally through distributors and via a network of dealers. All Zildjian products are made in the USA at our cymbal factory in Norwell, MA and drumstick/mallet factory in Newport, ME.
    Position Summary: Assist the Quality Manager in driving the continuous improvement and advancement of the Zildjian Quality system to deliver consistent high quality products to our customers. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for learning the Zildjian quality operating system to include measurement of yields, product standards, auditing procedures, supply chain requirements, and the customer returns process in order to sustain quality standards and ensure that Zildjian products meet customer expectations throughout each step of the process from raw material to finished goods. "

    Responsibilities and Duties:
    • Ensure throughout each step of the manufacturing process that operators are inspecting product properly and that it conforms to established quality standards and standard work procedures.
    • Assist in creating, maintaining, and ensuring standard operating procedures for quality are being met across the organization and manufacturing process.
    • Assist in training manufacturing on the Zildjian quality system and product standards for proper alignment.
    • Audit manufacturing processes for adherence to quality standards and report findings to the Quality Manager.
    • Assist the Quality Manager in the development and implementation of quality standards with external suppliers and distributors to meet product specifications for improved alignment across the organization.
    • Work closely with the Quality Manager and Process Engineer to support continuous improvement efforts and give regular feedback on the quality of incoming receipts, in-process and finished goods.
    • Responsible for reviewing incoming receipts and follow quality procedures for reporting this information to the Quality Manager , manufacturing team, and suppliers via the corrective action process.
    • Provides product quality support to the new product development and customer returns processes.
    • Track and maintain performance testing records for new products for final approval prior to new product launches.
    • Track pre-production for “release to manufacturing” and adherence to product specifications.

    Requirements
    • 2-5 years experience in quality, manufacturing, or a consumer goods related discipline. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • Experience with incoming inspection, in-process and final inspection.
    • Works well independently and has the ability to collaborate well in a team environment
    • Knowledge of consumer goods and compliance testing a plus.
    • Strong ability to multi-task.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

    Technical Skills, Certificates, and/ or Licenses
    Strong computer skills and experience in MS office, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Maintenance Mechanic
    Zildjian, the global leader in cymbals and specialty percussion instruments, is looking for an ideal candidate to join its manufacturing operations team at the oldest family run business in the United States. Zildjian uses proprietary processes to create cutting-edge acoustic and electronic musical instruments that provide timeless inspiration for artistic expression. The position is based at the Zildjian factory headquarters in Norwell, MA:
    Position Summary: We need an individual to fill a second shift position. The hours are Monday - Friday 8 hours (3PM -11PM). This position reports to the Plant Engineer and will handle all around maintenance and machinist functions, as well as perform fabrication of factory equipment parts. The ideal candidate will assist with installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing equipment within the factory as well as any maintenance of the building and grounds. Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience. High School Diploma required. Associates degree or training from Vocational school preferred. "

    The ideal candidate will have:
    • Troubleshoot programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
    • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
    • Diagnose and analyze difficult operating malfunctions and prioritize major, extensive or emergency repairs.
    • Use electrical test equipment as needed for repair and troubleshooting.
    • Assist in setting up predictive and preventative maintenance programs and perform timely equipment inspections to insure proper operation and safety compliance of manufacturing equipment.
    • Repair and rebuild electrical and mechanical components.
    • Participate in continuous improvement in safety, quality and housekeeping.
    • Communicate maintenance situations from one shift to another, including Plant Engineer.
    • Familiar with OSHA safety practices.
    • Organize and execute tasks regarding preventative maintenance items, changing filters, grinding rollers etc.
    • Installation, modification and fabrication of equipment and systems to meet production needs and schedules - motors, transformers, lights, generators, circuits, and basic components.
    • Executes and prioritizes work orders.
    • Plant wide accountabilities for operational aspects including progress toward quality and production goals.
    • Facilities maintenance work including snow removal and other duties.
    • Ability to work individually on projects and collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Other duties as assigned by Plant Engineer - shop clean up, general maintenance, facilities support, production.
