Originating from West Philadelphia, PA, Gene Jackson has established himself as a respected jazz drummer on the international scene. Whether Japan, Europe, or U.S.A, Gene Jackson’s drum style is in demand, sought after by many, adding his unique flavor to the music. Currently Gene Jackson straddles between Tokyo, Japan and Brooklyn, New York. Although Gene Jackson has toured and recorded over hundreds of cd’s with many jazz noteworthy’s such as Kevin Eubanks, Dave Holland, Branford Marsalis, Charles Tolliver Big Band, The Mingus Big Band, Gene Jackson’s most noted work to date has been with the Herbie Hancock Trio/Quartet from 1992-2000.
