Big fan of the K Custom Special Dry Series

"Playing and recording instrumental jazz-funk music, I need crashes that are dark and have a short decay. The 18" Special Dry Crash is the perfect size for this type of cymbal. It opens up quickly and shuts down smoothly, but quickly. It has a sound that falls between a China cymbal and a normal crash cymbal, combining the "white noise"/trashiness of the China with the full bodied sound of a K crash."

"This cymbal is dry, but complex. To me, it sounds as something in between a china and a crash. It could easily be used as a small ride for those "quiet as a mouse" jazz gigs or as a great accent on rock gigs."

"Just got this masterpiece of craftsmanship and am looking forward to utilizing all of its dynamic, dry, and complex tones for all I can. Recording, live, and rehearsing (solo and with band). It fits perfectly into the sound spectrum I'm experimenting with these days. I new it was going to be good, when right out of the box I crashed it with my knuckle and heard the beauty. Set it up at my studio on my kit and it blew me away there too. Really liking the experimentation that's happening at Zildjian. Thanks for inspiration with this line."
