Jeffrey Arévalo

Goose

Jeffrey was raised in Sarasota, Florida surrounded by a massive record collection amassed by his father and older brother. Although he didn’t get a drumset until he was 15, he started playing professionally after just a couple lessons. Graduating high school in 2006 he decided to stay in Florida to continue studying and performing locally. He attended State College of Florida and under the guidance of Professor Marc Mannino he was able to audition and receive a scholarship to Berklee College of Music. It was at Berklee that Jeffrey would meet Rick Mitarotonda, who would later form the band Goose. At Berklee Jeffrey studied many styles of music and even taught himself to play bass. Upon graduating he returned to southern Florida for a few years before returning to New England and joining Goose the band in 2020. Jeffrey has recorded three studio albums with Goose and several live albums and compilations. They are currently touring and play upwards of 80 shows a year with their first European tour approaching this November. Jeffrey proudly endorses C&C drums, LP percussion, and Zildjian cymbals.

  • WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

My family, friends, and band mates inspire me. It’s an incredible time to be alive with so much music at our fingertips. I am on a mission to improve everyday and inspire others.

  • WORDS OF WISDOM FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF DRUMMERS

Listen to everything and keep your mind open. Learn as much as you can and try to find your own voice. Do what sounds good to you and don’t worry about what others think.

  • FAVORITE ZILDJIAN CYMBAL/COMBO

I really love my flat ride with rivets. Amazing stick definition and sustain without being overbearing.
