Renato Rocha

Brazil

Considered one of the main Brazilian jazz drummers of his generation. A GRAMMY® member, Renato has a CD recorded with his two brothers, Special Big Band, which was on the North American label œSummit Records. In addition to this project, he is also part of the Brasilidade Geral group, which, due to its musical excellence, has been one of the scenarios in the Brazilian instrumental music scene. He has already toured the main universities and jazz houses in Brazil. In December 2012 he recorded a live DVD by the group Brasilidade Geral with the participation of Bob Mintzer (USA), a true living legend of jazz. In these musical meetings, he had the opportunity to play with many Ivan Lins, Hamilton de Holanda, Rosa Passos, Elba Ramalho, Wagner Tiso, Chico Pinheiro, Bob Mintzer, Michael Davis, Massimo Valentini, Marcelo Martins, Vittor Santos, Ademir Junior, Andra Vasconcelos, Ney Conceia§ao, Nelson Faria, Moisas Alves, Glauton Campello and many other musicians from Brazil, Europe and the United States. I also recorded a dvd with Roberto Menescal and the Brasilidade Geral group entitled Bossa de Alma Nova. Since then, there has always been a dedication to Brazil and a dedication already seen by many abroad.

  • WORDS OF WISDOM FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF DRUMMERS

This combination work very well: Constantinople, Special dry , Kerope .

  • FAVORITE ZILDJIAN CYMBAL/COMBO

The timbres and harmonics of the Constantinoples mixed with a dark sound project a cleaner sound without losing the characteristics of the cymbal, especially in a live environment.
