Casting Crowns

At age 9 my dad taught me to play a basic 4/4 bar beat. Everyday that summer I cranked the boombox through his Peavey guitar amp and played that same beat to almost every song that came on the radio. My journey into music making had begun. Over the years it has progressed and matured but still remains pretty simple. I'm beyond grateful for the ability to make music and recognize it as a gift from God. He's who I point to when I play.

  • WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

I'm thankful for the guys who groove hard. I've always been inspired by drummers who keep people listening when they don't know why. You know, Gadd, Gadson, and Keltner to name a few.

  • WORDS OF WISDOM FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF DRUMMERS

Beware of the comparison trap! Soak up inspiration but don't sit around wishing you were someone else. Chances are you have your own thing. Feel what you're playing. Loosen up and do you. When you believe it, there's a good chance everyone else will too.

  • FAVORITE ZILDJIAN CYMBAL/COMBO

The 18" and 20" K Cluster crashes are so good together. They work well in almost every situation in today's music.
