DETAILS

The K Ride is one of the first K models made when US manufacturing of K's began in 1982, and is a solid, all-around ride choice for any gig. Standard K Rides feature a traditional randomized hammer pattern, very low curvature, and is made today with a smooth lathing for a little extra give. Its mid-range weight provides solid stick clarity, while also retaining great low crash qualities.

I sold one once, and had to buy another!

"This is an absolute workhorse of a cymbal. For me, it fits every category. This is the one I bring when I don't know what I'm going to need to play. Great crash on it, good wash for riding, bell is pronounced. My only regret is selling that one I had one time, but I bought another one to replace it haha! This thing does rock extremely well, it does jazz extremely well, it even does metal pretty well. If you can only have one ride cymbal, this should be it!"

Oh my God...what a beautiful sound....the perfect jazz ride

"When I first heard one of these, I thought, "that's the perfect cymbal for what I mostly play." That happens to be jazz, though I like and will happily play any style of music. This ride has a soft, sultry sound that I could listen to all day. Its characteristic K Zildjian dark overtones don't overpower acoustic instruments. This applies to the bell as well; you get the ping, but it's not overpowering. Probably not the best choice for heavy metal rock or techno-music (get an A Zildjian Medium or Ping Ride for those), but for anything like jazz or classical, it's hard to find a better choice than the good ol' traditional K Ride. It's the ride cymbal that I use the most."
