Drummer and percussionist Claudio Infante has been one of Brazil’s leading musicians, being at the very top of his profession during a career spanning over four decades. He has played alongside some of the biggest names in the Brazilian music industry.
Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, he started playing drums and percussion at just 7 years of age. Three years later and still only 10 years old, he entered the band Grupo Agora, touring across Brazil, South America and the USA.
He has performed on shows, and recordings with artists such as Marisa Monte, Ivan Lins , Djavan. B.B. King, Billy Cobham, Trilok Gortu and Sheila E.
As a solo artist he released the CD “Infante” in 1997, later releasing a play along version ,and in 2006 launched his second album “Tempo”..
He also works as Musical Director for the Rio Jazz Orchestra and Brazilian Jazz singer Taryn Szpilman, and regularly gives courses and workshops throughout Brazil, South America, Europe and the USA.
