Dave Simmons

Born into a musical family in Detroit, Dave Simmons was exposed to a wide array of musical influences. Schooled on the Motown Sound while nurturing his Trinidadian roots, his wide style palette helped him build a 4-decade successful drumming career. Simmons is also a music producer - with his work on Concha Buika's EP, 'Para Mi' earned him a Grammy nomination in the Best World Music Album category.

Dave has worked and toured with A-list acts like Wayne Wonder, Ky-Mani Marley, The Marley Brothers, Sade, Lauren Hill, Debbie Gibson, Maffio, Farruko, Javier, Martika, Billy Crystal, The Drifters, The Marvelettes, Brian Howe (Bad Company), Blowfly, Inner Circle, Stevie Wonder to name a few!

He has been the touring and recording drummer for the legendary multi Grammy-award winning KC & The Sunshine Band for 17+ years.

Dave Simmons is a co-founder of HEDDROKK Productions - currently producing and releasing music in the Afrobeat, soca, reggae and pop genres. He is actively recording for independent and legendary artists.
