Dave Tedeschi

Dave Tedeschi

Postmodern Jukebox/Independent

At the age of nine, after years of not being able to sit still during his piano lessons, Dave Tedeschi convinced his parents to buy him a snare drum. From that point forward, Dave knew that he wanted to be a musician. Through the encouragement of his family - including grandmother Audrey Olsen, a legendary choral director and piano teacher - he graduated from the Eastman School of Music and then landed in New York City in 2009. Over the past ten years, Dave has become known for his musicality, versatility and improvisational prowess.

When not on the road with Postmodern Jukebox, Dave performs with his band People Vs. Larsen and maintains a busy schedule as a sideman both in the studio and in live situations. On top of performing, Dave also finds great joy in teaching private lessons and clinics to musicians of all ages.

  • WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

There is so much good music out there and I try to dig into all of it. The more of an open mind you can have with music and art, the more you are going to be moved by it! I am currently on a James Gadson, Bon Iver, Tortoise, Big Thief, Nate Smith kick... Next week will be different!

  • WORDS OF WISDOM FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF DRUMMERS
