As I relocated to Miami in 1973 from New York after 12 years, we immigrated from Cuba. My life changed completely. I started working as a full time musician in a Bar with a Piano Player 5 nights a week. My name started to spread among musicians. What I didn't know there was a movement going on with the music. They called it "The Miami Sound" where a mix of Rock and Cuban Music were played. I got calls to play in different venues and recording on RCA records with "Max Demian", a top rock band from Miami. Willy Chirino hired me as his drummer. He was one of the bands with that sound, other bands were Judges Nephews, Alma, Clouds, and Miami Sound Machine which later became International Stars with Gloria Estefan. I performed with Chirino 8 years, Jose Rodriguez (El Puma) 5 years. I got hired to do "Sabado Gigante TV show" which became the first long running show without repetition in the World Book of Guiness, which lasted 30 years. In between the shows I was hired by K.C. and the Sunshine Band, Bobby Keys, Mick Taylor, Ivan Neville, Celia Cruz, Jon Secada. I am still active and perform with different bands and projects.
