Jay Cobain formally known as Jamaal J Smith spent several years touring around Europe and America playing for the likes of HRVY, band Love in Future Times and most recently Kid Brunswick. Having worked with the likes of Spencer Smith & Pete Wentz Jay is no stranger to band settings and pop-punk sonics. In 2019 he started working on solo work releasing his first single Lost Hope. Taking inspiration from some of his influences such as Kid Cudi, Dave Grohl, and Ringo Starr he continues to experiment and test the boundaries of where music can go.

  • WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

    Sometimes our God given talents can help make someones day, month or year just from one show. Although this is what we call a job i'm fully aware of how escaping from reality and experiencing a show can give people mental freedom, so I just hope to be able to provide that for someone. Sonically i'm heavily influenced by Muse, Bring Me The Horizon, Kid Cudi - they keep me inspired with their music and all also have amazing drummers!

    I think my new favourite might be the 20" Prototype EFX with the spiral ontop! sounds amazing, and the FX Raw Crash with the Special Dry Hats is another impressive combo that can cover most gigs.
