George Thorogood and The Destroyers
I'm a founding member of The Destroyers. We started the band in 1973. I taught myself playing along with records. I developed my approach by intensely studying the Rolling Stones approach. I should also mention Kenny Johnson of the James Cotton Band of the mid-seventies, and Richie Hayward of Little Feat. I am extremely blessed to able to continue on the journey with the support of my family.

My family, our fans, my bandmates, and all the musicians I enjoy listening to. I'd start with Charlie Watts, Earl Palmer, Charles Otis, Al Jackson Jr, Hal Blaine, Russell Batiste Jr., and pretty much anyone I've heard.

Learn as much as you can, but only use what the song needs. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
