Joshua Vaz is one of Indias most sought-after, independent, professional drummers and percussionists. Known popularly to be the official drummer for IPL Extraaa Innings show. Son of illustrious drummer and percussionist Franco Vaz, and grandson of Indias legendary drummers, Leslie Godinho and Francis Vaz, it was inevitable that Joshua would carry their rich musical legacy into the next generation. Music has always been in his blood “ after first learning piano for ten years, he naturally moved to drums and percussion.
Joshua has played with some of the biggest names in the industry including Sonu Nigam (who has collaborated with Jermaine Jackson), Lewie Banks, Ali Zafaar (Pakistan), Taufeeq Qureshi, Shibani Kashyap, Manasi Scott, Anushka Manchanda, Vasudha Sharma (Aasma), Shruti Patak, Shweta Pandit, Merlin Dsouza, Gino Banks, Nandoo Bhende, Suchitra Pillai, Moanli Thakur, Shibani Dandekar, Floyd Fernandes, Giovani, Asheley Quinne, Ravi Chari, Ravi Ayer, Nilesh Dahanukar, DJ Loyd, DJ Uri, Sanket Naik, Safar (the band), American singer-songwriter Daniel Tyler, Franco Vaz and many more.
He has arranged rhythm sections for Bollywood songs, toured with several Indian classical dance troupes and some of the top DJs in the country.
