Sheila served as drummer for Prince in the 1980s, but has proved to be a successful artist in her own right, as a percussionist, vocalist, and songwriter. In her early 20s, she had already performed with Lionel Richie, Marvin Gaye, Herbie Hancock, and Diana Ross.
