What is Perfect Tune®?

Perfect Tune® is Zildjian’s advanced sound personalization technology that makes your listening experience completely your own. It analyzes how you hear different frequencies and automatically adjusts the audio mix to fit your unique hearing profile. The result? You hear every note in full detail - even at lower volumes - exactly as the artist intended.

How does Perfect Tune® work?

Using a quick in-app hearing test, Perfect Tune® maps how your ears hear sound across a wide range of frequencies. Based on your results, the headphones adjust the audio output in real time to fill in any frequency gaps, giving you a perfectly balanced, highly detailed listening experience that’s tailored specifically to you.

Will my Perfect Tune® settings work on all my devices?

Yes! Once you complete the hearing test and enable Perfect Tune® in the Zildjian app, your personalized settings are saved directly onto the headphones. Your tuning stays active no matter which device you’re
listening on, even if that device doesn’t have the app installed.

What if my hearing test shows hearing loss?

Perfect Tune® is not a medical tool; it’s designed to help you get the most out of your listening experience. If you have concerns about your hearing, we recommend consulting a hearing care professional or audiologist.

What devices support the Zildjian app?

The Zildjian app requires iOS 13.0 or later. Once your profile is saved, the headphones will retain your personalized settings across any device you listen on.

If I create a custom EQ in the app, will it stay saved?

Yes. Once applied, your custom EQ settings are saved directly onto the headphones and remain active until you choose to change or disable them in the app.

Why can’t I scrub (fast-forward/rewind) during playback?

Scrubbing is only supported when you're connected via Bluetooth, and not all devices support this feature. For example, some Android models do not support Bluetooth scrubbing. This is a limitation of the source device, not the headphones.

Are Zildjian ALCHEM-E Headphones only for drummers?

Not at all! While inspired by Zildjian’s musical heritage, Zildjian ALCHEM-E Headphones are built for anyone who loves music and wants a fully personalized, premium listening experience - whether you’re a musician or a music lover.

Can I use Zildjian ALCHEM-E Headphones as hearing aids?

No. Zildjian ALCHEM-E Headphones are not medical devices and are not intended to replace hearing aids or other hearing solutions.

My headphones won’t pair with my device, what should I do?

First, remove the headphones from your device’s Bluetooth list. Turn Bluetooth off and back on. With the headphones powered on, press and hold the control knob and ANC button together for about 30 seconds to reset. Then try pairing again.

What happens if I get a phone call while listening?

When connected via Bluetooth, incoming calls will pause your music and play your phone’s ringtone. When using a wired (aux) connection, calls won’t interrupt your audio.

Can multiple people use Perfect Tune® on the same headphones?

Currently, Zildjian ALCHEM-E Headphones support one active hearing profile at a time. If someone else wants to personalize the headphones, they can retake the hearing test and update the profile in the app.

Do I need to retake the hearing test over time?

Your hearing can change over time, so you’re always welcome to retake the hearing test if you’d like to refresh your profile. Otherwise, your settings stay saved until you update or turn them off.

Do I need the app every time I use the headphones?

No. The app is only needed for setup and adjustments. Once your personalization is saved, you can enjoy your Perfect Tune® profile on any device, even without the app. We recommend checking the app periodically for firmware updates that can improve or add functionality.

Can I use Zildjian ALCHEM-E Headphones for movies, gaming, or podcasts?

Absolutely. Perfect Tune® enhances all types of audio - music, podcasts, movies, and more.

Why won't my iPhone or iPad pair with the Zildjian app?
