Yes, as long as you are 16 or under on the final event date, February 15, 2026.

What does the winner receive?

A trophy, the prestigious title, and a valuable goodie bag.

Does my face need to be clearly visible in my video?

Absolutely! If we can’t verify it’s you, your
entry will be disqualified.

Can I submit a physical video?

We ask that all entries be submitted via the entry form as an unlisted YouTube video.

Can I submit a video using my electronic kit?

Yes, but we need to clearly hear your playing to ensure authenticity. To prevent any "creative editing," we must be certain you're playing live.

Can you tell me why I didn’t make the final 40 or final 10?

Simply put, the competition is tough, and those selected stood out the most.

Can I get feedback on my entry?

We receive hundreds of entries, so unfortunately, we can’t provide individual feedback.

Can I submit a video of me playing with my band?

No. Entries must be a solo performance, no longer than two minutes.

On Finals Day

Can I change the drum kit setup in the finals?

The standard five-piece setup must remain, but you’ll be able to adjust heights with the help of a tech.

Can my family record my performance at the finals?

Yes, as long as they don’t block anyone’s view.

What’s the seating arrangement at the finals?

Tickets will have assigned seats. We’ll announce when they’re available—grab them early for the best spots!

Can I bring my phone backstage?

No—bringing a phone backstage will result in disqualification.

Will there be video clips of the finalists this year?

Yes, of the top 10.

How are finalists judged?

Each finalist is scored in six key areas, with the highest total determining the winner.

Do I need to read music for the finals?

No, reading music isn’t required for this
competition.

Can I play the same solo in the finals as in myentry video?

Yes.

Who are the judges?

That’s a surprise! But past judges have included Vic Firth, Derek McKenzie, Geoff Dugmore, Ralph Salmins, Sola, Jason Bowld, and Lloyd Ryan.

Do I need to set up my kit the same way in my entry video as in the finals?

No, set it up however you like—just make sure we can see you clearly.

What do the judges look for?

They evaluate timing, technique, musicality, feel, interpretation, and overall performance.

Can I use my own cymbals in the finals?

No. You’ll use the provided set: two crashes, a ride, and hi-hats. You can bring your own pedals, sticks, and throne.

What’s the format of the finals?

Each finalist performs a two-minute solo, a song with a provided bass and guitar player (sent to you three weeks in advance), and a final piece with the guitarists—revealed on the day of the finals.
