"I am in the process of trying out a number of different kinds of sticks. I like the un-varnished or sanded wood on this stick. The balance of the stick wasn't right for me but a number of my students played with them and really liked them. In the past there seemed to be some quality control issues with a few pairs I tried. They were slightly warped and even though they were in their matched pairs? They were not very pitch matched. This was a few years ago. These days they seem to be much better."
