Dave Marvin has been involved with the marching percussion activity for over 50 years. At age 11, he began marching, and now teaches, writes, designs, presents clinics, and judges nationwide.
Dave is a proud member of the Hall Of Fame for WGI, Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps, and the Rocky Mountain Percussion Association.
He is Director and Arranger for the Denver Broncos Stampede, the first official drumline of the NFL. Since 2003, the group has evolved into a powerhouse 30 piece brass/percussion band, integral to game day entertainment, as well as private and corporate functions.
Dave spent 39 years as the Percussion Director at the internationally acclaimed Northglenn High School (Percussion Theatre). In that time, Northglenn earned 19 state titles; WGI Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals; and WGI Fans' Favorite awards in 2010 and 2015. For over twenty years, he has directed the Longmont High School Winter Percussion Ensemble, which is a ten-time WGI Finalist. Dave was also the mastermind behind the show concepts and visual coordination for the four-time WGI World Champion Blue Knights World Percussion Ensemble from 1999-2005.
Dave has written, arranged and taught for the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps, Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps, United States Air Force Drum & Bugle Corps, the University of Colorado Marching Band, and Genesis Drum & Bugle Corps.
Dave served as President of the Rocky Mountain Percussion Association for over a decade and on the WGI Steering Committee for over fifteen years.
Along with his wife Kathy, Dave has produced a number of high profile percussion groups for their company, Party Crashers, LLC. The group Beauty and the Beats is America's first professional, all-female drumline.
Dave is a clinician/artist for Yamaha Musical Instruments, Zildjian/Vic Firth, and Evans Drumheads.
