Professor at the Berklee College of Music, Music Director at www.TheDrumSetCoach.com, Henrique De Almeida holds a Masters Degree in Music Performance from The University of Southern Mississippi. He is also a graduate of The Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. A graduate in Jazz Composition, he is the leader of his own groups, The HenJoSal Trio featuring Berklee Professors Joe Santerre on bass and Sal DiFusco on guitar. He also leads the Jazz Fusion group World News.
As an accomplished author, Henriques educational publications and products are often ranked high in Modern Drummer Magazine (most recent 4.5 star- Double Bass Integration for TheJazz Fusion Drummer)his books are an integral part of the Berklee College of Music curriculum and are currently available through the top publishing companies such Berklee Press, Hall Leonard, Carl Fischer, Amazon.com and online schools such as Drumeo-Canada among others. As a course designer for Berklee, he became a sought-after expert in formulating some of the most successful programs at the college. His expertise with an enormous amount of styles earned him a prestigious and rare full-time appointment as Professor. He filled the position at Berklee that was previously held by the legendary drummer Mike Mangini (Dream Theater). Henrique is in charge of developing, teaching, publishing, maintaining and enhancing Berklee courses related to Pop/Rock, double bass studies, Brazilian music, Afro-Cuban music, Jazz, drum set chart reading, snare rudimental and orchestral reading, the Moeller technique, polyrhythms, brushes, and many other areas of studies. Henrique is also an academic advisor and is member of the Educational Committee “ Curriculum Development.
